Code of Conduct
All participants, instructors, dancers, DJs, and volunteers at Hawaii Zouk Festival are required to agree with the following code of conduct. Together we will enforce this code throughout the festival.
Let us be decent human beings and treat each other with respect and care.
Hawaii Zouk Festival is dedicated to providing a harassment-free festival experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion (or lack thereof), or technology choices. Sexual language, imagery and nudity are not appropriate for any Hawaii Zouk Festival event, including talks, workshops, parties, and other online media.
We do not tolerate harassment of participants in any form. Anybody who violates these rules may be expelled from Hawaii Zouk Festival without a refund at the discretion of the organizers.
Harassment includes offensive verbal comments related to gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion, sexual images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks or other events, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention. Anybody who is asked to stop any harassing behavior is expected to comply immediately.
If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact a member of the Hawaii Zouk Festival staff immediately. Hawaii Zouk Festival staff will be happy to help participants contact security or local law enforcement, provide escorts, or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment to feel safe for the duration of the festival. We expect everyone to follow these rules at Hawaii Zouk Festival, including all co-created events.
We trust and expect everybody to be mindful of the festival area, the environment and our neighbors. Some areas and venues at Hawaii Zouk Festival are restricted for organizational and security reasons, and access depends on wristbands. Everybody is expected to follow instructions from Hawaii Zouk Festival staff at all times and respect one another.
